Solitary in Sanity

A flirtation with the delightful life has inspired –rubies and love songs, a weekly post that presents something positively uplifting, powerfully felicitous, sugary and sunshine-y, in the hopes of making you smile out loud.

I needed to take a moment to believe this today. I have a roof over my head, a wonderful partner in life and the two cutest dogs in all the land. Not to mention a teeny tiny baby growing inside of me. So what if I can’t buy a car load of presents this year, or if a bill goes a few days late? I have what matters. And it can only get better from here.

Considering that of the 200+ blog posts I read a day, about half are fashion blogs, I really do not read many personal style blogs. They are a great source of outfit inspiration, but don’t offer me anything that I need for my work. I recently came across Ashely of Fancy Fine (through a blog I read daily- which one? i cannot recall) and I love her. She’s absolutely adorable and I want to move into her closet. Her hair makes me want to get a time machine and tell my January self not to chop.

As a Rutgers Alumni, the news about Tyler Clementi broke my heart. For me, Rutgers was a space where people of all different backgrounds came together to share a common experience – the insanity of college life.

Well this is supposed to be an uplifting post, so here’s to hoping that my future children come of age in a world where people young and old are tolerant of others regardless of their sexual orientation.

Isn’t this so cheery? I’ve been to Oregon, well just Portland, and everything is pretty wonderful there. They have this amazing public transportation system that really puts any other U.S. city to shame.
